I used to feel so bad
You didn't have a heart
I thought I could make you happy
Lead you to a new start
Everyday, every month, every year
You kept taking more
So much resentment
No way to fix the score
Calling me selfish and depressed
For wanting equality
Hating myself for what I could never be
Had me down on my knees
Begging God to forgive me
For ever letting such a monster inside of me

Dear sunshine. We all have our own monsters from time to time. Such a sense of release when they go. Enjoyed reading you dear poet. All the best.
Thank u Cassie, nothing but the best to u also
A good read that portrays the situation as a monster. The metaphor fits well
Monsters will always come and go, don't let them control you or abuse you and they will leave quicker, enjoyed your writing
