Paul Gerard Reed

When there is no more time to look back

This day will seem sublime,

When the yellow sun's light has gone out

It will shine down one last time

On us, and the carefree way

The blood ran through our veins today;

When youth has gone and the decades fled

This brief moment will still endure,

When your eyes can no longer focus on mine

And illness outlived the cure,

When life's engines judder and start to stall

We will look back and see - we had it all.

    This poem struck me personally and whether the poem or the topic it evoked an emotional response and for that stroke of art I give it a fave.

        Loved This. I am often reminded of the sentiment when my wife and I are overthinking our future.
