Replay

My tea left outside has been drunk by a passer by,
she sat in my seat sipped slowly and softly had a cry.
Watching through a windows clouded unnoticed view,
I felt sad for her sitting alone feeling so blue.

Haunting I froze and watched emptiness sit next to her,
hoping the sugar and milk comforted and re-assured.
This passer by has passed so much and still glides,
my hands shook they trembled hanging by my sides.

No tissues for her tears she let them flow,
she didn't see me and of her tears I know.
Like a shadow watching I was scared to interfere,
having a need to comfort those shedding tears.

Cup and spoon clean, dried, and put away,
tears and the blueness of her face on display.
Reflection stained the windows glasses pane,
unfocused watching a memory replay again.

This poem is haunting and sad. Past memories can be sad but they can also be happy and cheerful depending what we choose to focus on. Loved this poem and its sense of distance and haze in the memory that seems to fade away at the end of the poem. Most lovely
