Hold Your Heart

tkatie118

You don’t need to run away,

You don’t need to hang your head in love,

Your heart’s just misplaced

We could play a whole new game

Static stuck in love’s intake

Love your heart, and do not be afraid,

You think ‘cause I’m so in love with you,

I should be ashamed

But I’m not, and for you, I’ll come out,

I’ll say it

You need to know you are loved,

You’re in my heart

Look, I know we fell in love so fast,

But let’s leave painful pasts, and mistakes,

They don’t last

Long is the fall if we do not risk it,

Hold my heart if you resist it

Hold your heart, do not be afraid

I will love myself for you,

I should be ashamed

Love your heart, and do not be afraid,

You think ‘cause I’m so in love with you,

I should be ashamed

Long is the fall if we do not risk it,

Hold my heart if you resist it

Such a nice pledge of love set in a dare where the author is willing to risk it all in an outward call. A most lovely poem that is daring and tender at the same time.
