Reasons to leave Mexico

Poetic Licence

Cartel`s Punishment.

Born in captivity.

Raised in poverty.

Driven to slavery.

The masters of depravity.

Tied to the chair.

Electrodes in my hair.

Flick of the switch.

Hair burnt to a frisk.

Blowtorch to the balls.

Sound of the chainsaw.

What made them a man.

He holds in his hand.

Pliers reaching deep.

To the roots of the teeth.

Pulled out one by one.

Left with bleeding gums.

Arms tied to the legs.

Plastic bag over their head.

Locked in airtight room.

Left until your dead.

Nails through the hands.

You’ve become hanging man.

Nails through the feet.

Till information you release.

Nails off leaving the nerves raw.

No more need for a manicure.

Fingers cut off one by one.

Leaving you just your thumbs.

Hot poker from the outside.

Burning you on the inside.

Sprayed in scalding water.

Wired to the electric metre.

Baseball swing on your head.

Cigarette burns to your legs.

The cracking of your bones.

The message is driven home.

All this punishment is of no benefit to you.

You are aware of what they are about to do.

Eventually they will decapitate your head.

Then leave you hanging from a city bridge.

Message from the cartel to the community.

That no one is free or has whole immunity.

Follow the rules that in stone are firmly set.

Or you and your whole family will all be next.

A horrific account of the depravity metered out by some in our species. Hardly surprising that those likely to be on the receiving end want to escape. Hard hitting Tobani. Have a peaceful Tuesday dear poet.

Thank you Cassie, I just wanted to make a point that they are leaving for a reason, enjoy the wonderful 🌞

Yes, it is lovely and sunny, though still cold. I will brave my garden today, there is work to be done. Enjoy your day.

A powerful write in brutal clarity the point is made. Where there is poverty life is cheep and so it is not just Mexico but much of central America that is desperate for relief. Great message sent.

Not the safest place to visit and with other south american countries a brutul and hopeless place to grow up, thank you for your comment, very much appreciated

Truth. And here’s the kicker: Who arms those cartels? The U.S. of A! It turns out there is a lawsuit currently before the U.S. Supreme Court, where Mexico is suing American gun companies, including Smith & Wesson, for designing and selling firearms that end up in the hands of drug cartels. They claim that over 70% of the weapons used by these cartels originate from the United States.

Just read this in the news today. “God bless the USA,” right? We manufacture and sell the guns, then impose hefty tariffs on those countries we sell them to, all while they grapple with drug and gang violence fueled by our products.

Forgive me, anyone who isn’t American and is reading this. I am so disgusted with my country that I can hardly articulate it constructively—other than through poetry. But disgusting...that I find it all.

Now, back to your poem, well done my friend. You not only brought up a major humanitarian issue going on in Mexico, you also posted it on a day where some major news about the USAs impact on those cartels is becoming more and more clear and obvious. Timely and urgent. Well done,. friend. This gets a fave. 🌹👏

Thank you for your kind feedback, very much appreciated, I know it effects other south American countries as well, and countries like America supply a lot of what is needed by these cartel's, including being one of there biggest markets, not like America doesn't produce it's own addictive drugs is it!!!, enjoy the rest of your day

You are welcome. Oh. No. Not in America...the city shining on a hill...currently more or less glowing in a toxic luminance of SkinToner Orange and MAGA Red and Tesla blah. LOL! I hope your day rocked my friend.

Well. That's a macabre and ghastly list of ghoulish behaviors dealt out. Nothing like letting the demons run the show, I guess. Excellently rendered with superb imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Nothing to constructively add after your piece and Tristan's response. I'll shut up and fave it instead.
