I watched her strip her clothes,
revealing her bare skin.
She looks down, then at me.
She stands there, staring for hours.
I see how her eyes yearn and beg.
She turned to her side and sucked it in.
All until there was only a thin line.
But this line was still too thick.
It always would be.
She tries again and again, staring at me
intensely each and every time.
Her eyes, desperate for something.
Anything.
Her hands caressed her soft skin.
It moved around and so does her flesh.
Every movement mimicked its own.
And that's when it happened.
When she hunched over,
her body vibrating with sorrow.
She looks up at me, her eyes tinted crimson,
bleeding colorless blood.
“I hate you”.
She whispers.
That's all she ever says.
She clenched his fist, but I wasn't scared.
I knew she wouldn't punch.
She never did.
Her hand fell onto mine, our fingertips
connecting, and for a split second I knew how
it felt to feel.
She breaks away, still staring at me,
and says those three familiar words.
Each time she got louder.
Each time she meant it more.
Each time it hurt less.
I watched as she resented my every being.
How her tears carved canyons in her cheeks.
How her eyes reddened with woe.
How her teeth clashed in frustration.
I felt pity for her.
I wanted to hug her,
to wrap her in my warmth.
Maybe then she wouldn't be so.
I wish I could tell her how much I loved her,
to give her the love he deserved,
to let her know that I was always here.
But I know I'll never be able to...
After all,
I'm Only A Mirror

I loved this one. It has all the elements of a great write. Great images that are just enough revealed to be sensuous and erotic without being perverse, tension and emotional drawing in of the reader, then the coup de gras the final twist that puts a whole new perspective on all. Perfect and a fave
This is amazing, I love it!
This is a wonderful write, drawing you with the emotion and sadness, great imagery as you read through and a great last line, brilliant
