HEAR MY CALL

nephilim56

Shadows in the night
Razor eyes to light
A falling veil
Upon which to rest
Memories far from shore
Beyond the stained dance floor
Of tears now disbanded
Hear my call.

Tender was your kiss
Among the things I miss
Footsteps that lead
From bedroom to the door
Out into the night
Voices crying out
Streetlights observe
Love dying, bitter fall.

Shoes held in your hands
Midnight in distant lands
To hear one more time
The train whistle blow
Its written in the stars
Around the clubs and bars
Tears now disbanded
Hear my call.

Sweet memories abound in this poem that speaks of a departure. Well written and crafted it has a sense of melancholy.
