Ocean

Pineapple_pizza018

The water rises above my knees

It's gotten to where I can barely breathe

Waves turn into tidal waves

There's always a price to pay

I'm in risky waters and I'm trying to swim

No matter how much I try, I can't escape them

Surrounded by my own tears

Mixed in with overwhelming fears

Sharks are surrounding me

I'm going under to where I can't even see

The sharks start to attack

I try to fight back

The sharks have lost

But at what cost

I've lost a lot of blood

And just when the worst is over

Here comes a flood

I'm dragged back under

I have resurfaced

Don't know what I did to deserve this

But the worst has yet to come

A tsunami has arrived

Don't know where it came from

But it's right on time

I've managed to survive

The water starts to rise

A storm is coming

I'm surprised I'm not drowning

The storm has finally passed

I'm safe at last

I'm still alive

But I don't know if I can take it this time

It's over now

It's calmed down

The water is now at my waist

Now I just need to wait

Whatever is coming I'll face it head on

Or else I'll be gone

With the water at my feet

I can really breathe

I'm relieved

I'm finally free

From the fears holding me back

Keeping me away from myself

It was only showing me the past

But I broke free and I did it without help
