Charlie Chaplin Sings The Blues

mtrotter1

The streets are filled with revelry

As the snow disappears, and the sun sets

I am proud of what I'm seeing right now

The rage lives on within the laughter

And my heart sinks deeper and deeper

Into this heartfelt moment

For the laughter keeps raging on

And the music starts to play

Behold!

Such violent sensations

Turn to deeper flowers

For roses lie on an emotional ground

So everlasting and rare

And the eyes of such pleasure

Begin to speak in song

Behold such a man of years

For he is peacefully solid...

At last! At last the revelry rises

And the smoke begins to clear

What secret admirer has adorned me here

In a place full of cheer?

For he is Charlie Chaplin

The man of my heart

So vast is the glorious treasure

That is him

And wild roses are at his feet

Dancing in revelry

And the distant lights have grown closer

To the mystery at large

What stage of Halloween is this

When the blind man sees?

For Charlie Chaplin is a miracle's disease

Bottled up in a lamp

And gone off to sea...

Oh such lights flicker upon the sea

Raging with discontent and sadness

To all the people who have enjoyed the show

Enjoy it again with madness!

For the warm and stormy seas have no clue

About the lonely sea abroad

The one that is covered in Chaplin's glee

The summer rush that falls to its knees

For I am forever stricken this day

Oh Chaplin, dear Chaplin!

Shall I fall upon my knees again

In the euphoria of this land?

Oh how extraordinary my heart feels

When it's winding in despair

For exquisiteness doesn't lie

And all the faith that has bound the world

Falls upon my chest

For all hopes become blind

In the sacredness of dreams

And I'd much rather dream of you

Charlie Chaplin

In a mental state of blues

For my blues is worthy

Because you gave me yours;

I fall on restless knees.
