Mom is not a burden! after Fyodor Kraev

Ksey_Gan

Mom can't be a burden,

Do you hear? She can't!

When her face is a map of pain,

When her hand is like a leaf that's about to fall off.

Old age is not a simple thing.

It's not just age, it's a struggle.

Mom falls, and no one sees.

Forget about the "burden"!

When you were a child, she did everything.

She got up at night, fed, didn't sleep,

And you now? You don't see now,

You have an empty look and ignore,

Now you throw her away.

They sent her to a nursing home.

Yes, that's what it's called,

But in reality, it's a place where they forget you.

Don't tell me about "conveniences"

And about "staff" - she's waiting for your hand,

Waiting for your word. Where are you?

You've gone, you've become an adult,

But have you become a man?

You can't be happy,

Until you tell her how much you love her.

But you won't say it, because you've gotten used to it.

You've gotten used to the emptiness, you've gotten used to the silence.

And Mom is still silent,

Only tears drip quietly, inaudibly,

And that's it.

Mom can't be a burden!

Your "affairs", your vanity - are not important,

When life is leaving, and she's still waiting.

You don't have to be a hero to realize,

She just wants you to be there,

So that you remember who held you,

When the world was too big.

Mom can't be a burden,

She can't! Period.

But you don't see, because your eyes are closed.

And when you open them, she won't be there anymore.

Some things can't wait. Priorities need to be set. A touching poem.
