Magic Exists

Kaelyn Jade

Magic exists,

Why it doesn't just have to be from a fairytale,

It holds more than just magic spells,

If you look around you can see that magic is real.

Magic is in the books you read,

No, not all the chaos that takes place in the scenes,

It’s found within the meaning behind the ink,

Books bring magic to life with what they plant in your brain.

They don’t need to give you magic powers,

Or let you fly to the sky,

But they give you an idea of how others should be like,

We can see that when we look and we try,

We can see magic through the book we liked.

Because it can give you the ability to see the magic in strangers,

In people doing good deeds,

Or when you hear people sing,

You can see it in their soul because that's what it is.

Books make out magic to be a magic spell,

Magic is actually our hearts and our souls,

Kind acts, love, and showing you care,

That's the kind of magic that we can only see if we’re aware.

It can change others hearts,

Add some magic to theirs,

See this world just wouldn’t be what it is,

If the magic that was here wasn't actually there.

Show others magic exists,

Be the fairy godmother in someone else's story,

Stop thinking of this world as a curse,

Because you can change that with just two words,

Magic exists.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Magic doesn't have to be limited to powers or whole other worlds. Though those things sound nice magic is found in things we do everyday. Magic can be found in kindness and love and just giving someone who might not even deserve it a helping hand. Magic is our hearts. Whether you wield good or bad magic is up to you.
