The Last Man On Earth

TommyDingo

I woke up one morning
To find that everyone was gone
No human being or animal was alive
They all disappeared that night
Walked around for a month in a daze
Making my way through this maze.

Trapped on this planet all by myself
Tormented by the notion that
Nothing much has actually changed
Even when I was surrounded by others
I was always alone.

I miss those, that wouldn't miss me
But I don't think I need any company
Some would say it's a blessing
Some would say it's a curse
Being the last man on earth.

A most interesting metaphor for social isolation. Nicely rhymed.
