I'm waiting here

Maplespal

Where the darkness rests its hat,
behind the light dimmed by time.
We shared a view of life together,
blinded to the darkness around us,
neglecting the shelf life of memory.
Expiry dates listed to read,
letting our love guide and lead.

That is where I am waiting.

A sense of loss and longing pervades this poem and extends a hand of hope in waiting. Lovely

  • Poetic Licence

A sense of someone still hoping but are just left waiting, nicely expressed
