Alot of my friends, who are locked up in the pen,
I can't be lying to them, if I'm riding for them.
I have to tell them how it really is.
Alot of things had changed since last year.
Keep believing in Him,
and you'll be leaving with Him.
So in Jesus name, I pray for better things.
If you help me Lord, my heart will never change.
Look what God done gave me.
Look what God done done.
... and even though I'm thuggin,
God's been good to me, good to me.
Look at all my money.
Look at all I've done.
... and even though I'm thuggin,
God's been good to me, good to me.

- Comment from author about the poem: This piece is taken from part of a song by one of my favorite music artists: Trick Daddy. Some of the words are changed a bit except for the chorus which is the last eight lines. This piece is actually twenty-three years old. Still... God truly has been good to me. Every day, He shows me His love and continues to bless me, and we must continue to acknowledge His blessings. - Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. - James 5:13 - Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! - Psalm 95:1 - Persistence is key

This poetry's strength lies in its colloquial language. It speaks out of the street. Very nice
