MEN OF THE CLOTH

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

The numbers in thousands
Quietly hushed
When pressure mounts
The courts are pushed
To find excuses alibis
Cameras turned off
In police custody suites
The punches the kicks.
Not recorded or claimed
No conscience no shame.

Life taken cheaply
Resisting arrest
An excuse often used
Often broadcast
By police side by side
These men of the cloth
Uniforms protecting
Violence, the cosh.

Its corrupt and vile
Courts in their favour
Beefed up by government
Wanting a favour
Thousands of lives
Over the years
No real appeal
For family or tears.
