Hotel El-Camon
Buckets for ice, chargers for phones
Check-out time rapidly coming
At the Casino Hotel El-Camon
Sam sipped dregs of overpriced coffee
Wondering–
Would Shila ever get ready
To leave for home?
Sam enjoyed coming
Sam enjoyed leaving
It was the time in between
Those two events that was a nuisance
Talking to people, he would probably
Never see again felt useless
Sam felt vibes in human contact
They all seemed to be so lonely
Torn between–
What life was and the one we
Had hoped it would be
Hope now in penny slot machines

I see this as a metaphor of life itself. Each line seems to apply. Well done
Thank you, SB

The truth of this in its entirety is something I feel completely, Jerry.
Thank You, Dave.
Some of the local references were of course lost on me, but that didn't detract from the situation overall.

Good one, following a minor dip, you need a major lift.
