Pleading for forgiveness, a heart's deepest cry
To the one I love, who I've hurt, and asked to try
To trust again, though I've caused the pain
And shattered the bond, that once remained
I know I'm the one, who brought on this strife
But I'm fighting to make it right, to be your partner for life
I don't expect instant forgiveness, I know it's too much
But I asked for time, to prove my words, through my actions and touch
My world stopped turning, When I saw the hurt in your eyes
I need to fix my wrongs, and make amends, before I say good bye
Though memories linger, and scars remain
I hope we can work towards healing, and love again
I know I've broken trust, but I want to rebuild
To create something stronger, something that will fulfill
Our love, our hearts, our souls, I want to make it right
To be with you, to love you, through the dark of night

A plea for forgiveness in this poem. Written with the recognition that trust takes time to rebuild but with the desire to do so. It speaks to all of us that make mistakes. Well done
