Sometimes
we’re like a twig on a tree
missing a leaf
that used to be there more of the time
and when we’re around others
who are in our space
we can feel a distance
a sense of loneliness lingering within
struggling to connect
and missing those who we are closer to
a twig missing a leaf
wishing they were around us more of the time
yet there not
there over there
in the distance a bit
sighing sometimes
struggling to connect to those that are in our space
distant from ourselves , somehow
with not much to say
a distance between me and them
sometimes we’re like a twig missing a leaf that used to be there more of the time
now there in the distance
sometimes
not in our company as much
there isn’t the same connection
with those around me
causing a lonely sigh
of I wish those closer leaves were by our side more of the time

- Comment from author about the poem: Feels lonely when you feel disconnected and missing people and are sometimes struggling to connect to those around you .. it’s not always easy to know what to say to feel your connecting and that can make you feel a little lonely aswell I can miss my twin sister sometimes .. and my mum .. c them when I can but wish could be spending more time with them , really

Nicely expressed write about the missing of people or that feeling sometimes that something is missing, and maybe around people but can still get that sense of loneliness, beautifully written
