Forgiveness denied

Nicole Pritchard

What is forgiveness, truly defined?

A chance to prove one's worth aligned

A plea to be forgiven, free from sin's stain

Without judgement's weight, repeated in vein

The purest of hearts, with intention true

Seeks forgiveness, and a chance to anew

To right the wrong, and mend the tear

And prove themselves, without a speck of fear

But forgiveness isn't always given free

A rejection harsh, without a second see

Leaves the heart bleeding, with a deep despair

A longing for a second chance, to show they care

What is forgiveness, when the heart is pure and bright?

When pleas for mercy, are met with endless night?

Is it not a chance, to prove one's worth anew?

A second chance, to rise, and see forgiveness shine through?
