The gift of release

Nicole Pritchard

Forgiveness, a gift so divine

Heals the heart, and soothes the mind

A balm for wounds, a calm for fears

A path to peace, through all the tears

It's not forgetting, nor is it ignoring

The pain inflicted, or the hurt enduring

But rather, it's letting go of the weight

That binds us to bitterness, and endless debate

Forgiveness frees us from the chains of pain

And releases love, like sweet, summer rain

It's a choice we make, a decision to take

To let go of anger, and the heart's ache

With forgiveness, we find peace of mind

And a sense of calm, that we'd left behind

our hearts, once heavy, now feel light

As love and compassion, take flight

So let us choose forgiveness, every day

And let its power, show us the way

For in forgiving, we find our own release

And a sense of freedom, that brings us to our knees

A great topic and message. It asks each person to let go of hate and anger for themselves not just for the other. Nicely said
