George Escram

MKS

He felt the fear a soldier would feel

As they are hunted, maimed on battlefields

At least that's how he would describe

The unnerving sense of danger ascribed

He felt the weight of the world like Atlas

With a mighty boulder of guilt to confess

While there was no ferocious stone to endure

It would crush him like one, he was sure

He felt he was in the darkness so black

With no light to guide the way back,

Even though there was the Sun in the sky

No sense of the truth could he try

George Escram, that quiet old fool

Felt fear, weight, and darkness would rule

He only had to step into the world to see

That it was waiting for him to simply breathe

A wonderful poem about fear and its paralyzing aspects but how in reality it is the fear itself that we fear. Lovely

A lovely write about sometimes we let fear over come us and the impact it can have, as they say the greatest fear you can have is fear itself, nicely expressed and written
