Shahnaz radiated brilliance, setting herself apart from the conservative crowd.
Her flawless skin accentuated her curvaceous figure,
While her wide, captivating hazel eyes conveyed depth.
Shahnaz's enchanting smile ignited a desire in those around her, Unmistakably marking her as one of a kind.
She approached life with confidence, inspiring others to reflect on her essence.
I adored Shahnaz for all her charming imperfections;
I cherished her as a woman who embodied grace.
With my youthful gaze, I admired her sense of style.
Her face seemed sculpted by the hands of a true artist, evoking an ancient dream.
Observing her demeanour, stride, and carefree laughter connected my youthful spirit to the woman I aspired to be.

- Comment from author about the poem: My aunt Shahnaz, my mother's eldest sister, was a vibrant woman. However, she endured tremendous tragedies throughout her life: two tumultuous and forced marriages, the bearing of eight children, being shot by her adult stepson, and ultimately, at the age of forty, she died in childbirth while delivering twin boys. In a conservative society that suppressed any truths, I, a curious child who adored my extraordinary aunt, sought to learn all I could about her.
