March Madness Fever

Matthew R. Callies

Madness sweeps the courts each year,
Anthem sounds, the fans ignite,
Round by round, the stakes grow clear,
Champions rise in bracket’s fight,
Hearts race fast with every cheer.

Mayhem fills the air with zest,
All eyes watch the ball take flight,
Dreams collide in fierce contest,
Nerves fray thin through day and night,
Each dunk fuels the wild unrest,
Sixty-four seek glory’s crest,
Spring’s grand tale of pure delight.
