capacity

lunarchloedip

he pulls me into his lap
and smiles
my brain short-circuits
his hands are soft
mine are scarred
but the way his fingers
lay gently on mine
feels almost sacred
and i could almost cry

he has blue eyes
piercing in intensity
they hit the light
and i think
he sees right through me
his lips taste like cherry
and i knew they would
because he’s wearing my lip balm
but id still feign curiosity
to kiss him

his laughter
is contagious
but i don’t mind
i find
i’d do anything
to be on his mind
he’s so kind
and i’ve always struggled
to unwind
but here
he makes it easy

he makes everything
feel easy
and the warmth
in his arms
as he holds me
i’ve never felt
this level of love

i didn’t know
i had the capacity
to feel this level of love.

It is the last three lines of this poem that caught my attention and sealed the rest of the poem. A very nice write about being worthy of love.
