THE ORNATE BOWL

nephilim56

He watches
The dancing flame
That lights the night
Thoughts to tame
The seafood
In cast iron bowl
Ornate design
Cracked and old.

The air it spits
Sparks on wind
To a higher heaven
Invisible wings
Upward sighing
A deeper sky
To meet the clouds
Floating by.

In this moment
Now uplifting
A million stars
Ears listening
Voices from afar
Like memories drifting
The lonely hour
Shifting.

Through thoughts
Like a movie show
His lips to glass
Emotion low
Another drink
A cigarette or two
Where within
This night are you ?

Missing someone is what comes through to me from this poem. Very well painted with images

A sense of connecting with someone in the peace of the night to someone there missing, enjoyed the read

      Hello,

This poem is about one of those moments when through fleeting time our thoughts might cross over and intertwine with those of another. Perhaps of someone dear or lost, the short brief lines give way for clear imagery though the whole atmosphere remains dream like, I enjoyed the read!
