Stay

daisydoo

When the silence is so loud you want to scream to drown it out

When the pain cuts so deep you want to punch and hurt to soothe the pain

When goodbye hurts so much you want to beg him to stay

When the tears threaten so hard you want to let them fall

But you can’t

and you know you won’t

So you sit there

With a small smile plastered on your face

You know he won’t be back

He says he will

But he won’t

He’ll just leave you

Like the last one

And the one before

So that’s why you won’t scream

You won’t hurt

You won’t beg

Because if you did

Your throat would be raw

You’d bleed out

Your voice would be hoarse

Your tears would be dried up

Because they didn’t listen

Because they don’t listen

Because he won’t listen

Left and the hurt that goes with it. Nicely written. This poem has a sense of not only hurt but longing

A write over the hurt and pain of rejection but at the same wishing it was different, enjoyed the read
