Blood Red

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

I'm looking forward but past changed me,
Will they ever open up their eyes and see?
Can no longer sidestep those spiritual forces,
I'd lust after girls that were far from gorgeous.
I don't need to sit in church to be a believer,
Praying for me is a sort of solo procedure.
Look, the rivers are already turning blood red,
His thirst for righteousness will be surely fed.

Here several divergent issues are brought together in one thought of how things have deteriorated and recognition of that. Nicely written

Righteousness will one day be reality. And God's thirst for it will definitely be quenched one day, maybe sooner than later the way things look anymore, but who knows? 🤷‍♂️ That part's the mystery! Well done on this piece, my friend! 🌹👏

I guess that's raw sewage in the river? I read once that a "fornicator's" aura has a bloody red tinge to it. I also read that lust is the root cause of the fall of this present humanity (as depicted symbolically in the story of Adam and Eve). It's such a powerful force, isn't it? I sometimes wonder if women feel it as strongly as us guys, due to the way Nature has set up the mating dynamic between the male and the female.
    Great write, Shaun.
