In Love You Thrive

rebellion_in_sanity

Have you ever loved yourself enough,
To feel kinship with the dawn?
Felt your heartstrings stir,
As the moonlight gently shone?
Have you ever loved yourself enough,
To forgive those who chose not to see?
To walk away with quiet grace,
When no one would agree?
Did you ever feel it—
Those billion stars in the sky,
The Sun, the Moon, the endless vast—
You are one with them; no need to ask why.
Have you ever respected yourself enough,
To seek forgiveness from your own heart?
Do you love yourself enough,
To never fear a goodbye’s start?

  • Comment from author about the poem: I often feel perplexed as to why we do those regrettable things which come back to haunt us afterwards. The answer I seem to get again and again is that we don't love and respect ourselves enough. The bad deeds are often signs of us giving up on ourselves by lashing out at others.

Amen to this! This is quite a wonderful poem that asks the important questions. And I concur. It often stems from us not love ourselves enough. And when that is the case, we have the damndest time finding love for others too. Well done on this. Profound! 🌹👏
