I didn't mean to cut so deep
of course it's not that big of a deal
something that could use stitches or glue
another scar that will look so perfectly straight
people will ask what happened even though they know
why did I cut my ankle as springtime is coming
the drops of blood fell for so much longer
of course it's not that big of a deal
I've cut much deeper before.

Literal or metaphoric it resounds with pain. Pain and concern. Why do we all injure ourselves in one way or another? Self destructive in relationships, business, politics, driving, it doesn't matter knowing better makes no difference. A raw and powerful poem, brave.
What a painful and sad landscape is described in this poem. Anyone who has been there knows better than to judge the reasons. I hope all the wounds heal. Very beautiful. Greetings.
just today morning my sister told me she had cut herself, and the wound was deep
i am just glad it was only physical, and will soon heal
