One life in my name

domilla

The anguish falls like rivers unbound,
its saltiness flows into the ocean that mirrors the ache.
It desires to pull me under,
I must not surrender to its plea,
I only have one life in my name.

Life leaves a little to admire,
When you are struck by a wave.
Left trying to keep your head above water,
When the pacific fills up your lungs.

You eventually find your way,
When you wrestle with the dark tides.
Desperate strokes and gasps of air,
before the dark tides claim your life.
You go too far,
When you surrender and let them win.

You dive till your reach the shore,
Only there will you finally breathe.
When the webbing tide withdraws,
the memories slip beneath the surface,
the ocean vastness swallows them whole.
The heart then finds its rhythm again.

The sea is a great metaphor for many things and no less so here. Water one of the four basic elements of the ancients is at its core with all its properties. Very nice Domilla
