I am no administrator of justice, child.
There is no just if they all get the same treatment.
I treat all the same and the world declares justice,
But their sins cry on an unbalanced scale.
I am not the equalizer of all pain, dear.
You think it goes away but it continues again.
Eternity’s grasp traps them in their vessels,
Their intangible souls allow for no escape.
I am no loving and caring creature, little one.
Cold and calloused is how I am described,
Nothing like that I mind as I find it all accurate.
Treating them the same is a shackle I’m bound to.

Wow! I am humbled and super excited to see this! Indeed, how just is death if it is the reward for the oppressed is the same exact thing as the punishment for the oppressor. That is a strange, if not cruel, sort of out come to be calling "level", let alone the differences at how the two arrived there, though in the end, it is a level in the sense that all go through it, but not all go through it equally and no "justice" involved in it, just a reality we all must face and there's no avoiding it, rich or not. But, it is not equal in how or when it is distributed. Well done on this, my dear friend. 🌹👏
That's exactly it! Thank you so much for reading and commenting!
You are welcome, my friend!
There is some deep philosophical thought in these three stanzas. Might i offer that we all tend to judge things on a human scale the universe and death are not human and have a different measuring stick. Pain is prejudiced not at all equal in its treatment of individuals. Love and care again very unequal. To me death is an equalizer happening to all without discrimination. What we see as justice is not part of the universal game where there are no winners or loosers only players. Very nicely written
Thank you for your insight! I agree that death is equal in the way it happens to everyone and the way it treats everyone, but I often think it's not equal for what people deserve.
A very interesting and different way of looking at how love and punishment are handed out. It raises alot of thought and pondering, well written, enjoyed the read
Thank you very much!
You are very welcome
