Today is a day like none other,
With dark clouds hanging low and heavy,
Followed by thunder, fierce and angry,
Crashing through the sky,
As if it owns the world and the heavens themselves.
Today is another reminder,
That you are still alone,
That your efforts, though many, were in vain,
That no one is here to hold you tight in the cold,
And you will shiver, waiting for the sun to rise again.
Today is yet another reminder,
As dark as the storm above,
Mirroring the storm within your mind,
For there is no one here to clear the clouds,
No one to remind you that the darkness doesn't last,
No one to whisper that you are loved.
Today feels like the start of a storm,
As unwanted thoughts begin to gather,
And the emotions you never asked for,
But the chill in the air is there to remind you,
Once again, that you are still alone.

Although alone you never are for you have yourself as partner always faithful and caring. A wonderful write about being strong with oneself.
