Paralysis

Midnight Lasagna

Now I lay me down to sleep

Lull my chest with cure to keep

And if I can’t vow form intact

Never blame an effort lacked

I wish no more you in my dreams

I long for meadows lively green

I look to Eve with trials won

No room for names of savage sons

Now I lay me down to sleep

Sedation crept in bruises deep

Prayer to void it seeps in gaps

Of neurons lost to baited traps

Haunting this poem set to the meter of a common child's prayer is highly recognizable and the conflict between the peaceful sentiment of that meter with the content of the poem is a clash provoking discord. Dissonance reigns a lovely write
