Venom

Jonathan Merida

My mind is filling with poison. It’s a slow, painful process as it spreads through me consuming inch by inch.  Each thought becomes a new crater in what was once my soul now a barren hellscape. When night comes alone I wander the badlands of my inner self desperately searching for a way to quell the storms ravaging my mind. Seconds stretch for hours yet hours pass like grains of sand through spread fingers. As the run rises another day begins, with it a fresh dose of venom floods my veins by way of my mind.

So much anger in this poem that overflows with emotion. Well worded it takes the reader on a ride.

  • Poetic Licence

A sense of raging anger and pain that is slowly eating them alive inside, nicely expressed and written
