More Than Words

cassiopeiaxneptune

A special scene of you and me,
describes our relationship perfectly...

I didn't know
how to get the words out,
but when I did—
I told you all the things
I could be,
and you told me,
I'm still me.

You knew I had a secret,
that you could feel me
holding my breath
from across the room.

You told me
I get to exhale now,
to be more myself
than I've ever been.

And in that moment,
I blushed, smiled, cried—
looked away,
avoided your gaze,
and thanked God,
and all my lucky stars,
for having you in my life.

The weight I carried,
was lifted off my shoulders,
and with it,
all my boulders.

I knew you'd understand.
I knew you'd take my hand.

You didn't judge me.
You simply accepted me,
loved me, for who I am,
loved me, for me.

No one else.
Just me.

It was more than words
could ever say or do.

And so,
I thank you.
