Out of nowhere
a thought of you
will hit my mind,
like a poison dart.
I don't know what
triggers it.
Tonight, I think it's
the cold wind blowing
outside my window.
Or, it could be the
tangerine I just ate.
That sweet juice.
It doesn't last
though.
Gone in a flash.
Too small for a
lifetime together.
And I'm alone with
this bright orange pain,
vowing never to write
about you again.

Funny how flashes or triggers set off thoughts, memories, emotions that pass as quickly as they come. A good write Thomas
Orange can bring so many emotions as has your poem, it also brings a certain zest of sadness and resentment, oh how things could have been so different. Superb poetry dearest Thomas. ๐งก

You're welcome
Love the "colorful" emotion in here. Brilliant use of orange and a very resonant poem. Well done, Thomas! ๐ฏ๏ธ๐น
Much appreciated.
A lovely write Thomas over the simplest of things that raises a memory, that passes as quickly as it came, enjoyed the read
Thanks.
You are very welcome
Had vowed that several times myself, at times vowing wasnโt even a measure required: โquilling shock,โ it could be described. Powerful write. Thomas ๐๐ป๐
