Forgotten and lost
I got memories I have forgotten and lost,
some left on the ground, some tossed,
some hidden and some I misplaced,
some to the walls I have braced.
When you're old it's expected to forget,
to not remember everyone you've met,
to not remember all the things you've learned,
or remember how many times in life you've turned.
Staring at nothing in your staring view,
at the forgotten memories in front of you.
Digging deep internally for memories to see,
to remember if those memories belong to your me.
Even though grey hair indicates a life's tale,
it is the memories retrieval with what we fail.
Like you I have memories grounded and tossed,
and I have memories I've forgotten and lost.
