BUTTERFLY

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

When the beating drum
Has lost its power
Faith in mankind
Has withered died
I watch a child
In vibrant wonder
Observe a butterfly
And find.

Maybe theres hope
In childrens eyes
A force of good
In future times
For the world
Has reached
Boiling point
Violence, mayhem, lies.

This innocence act
To nature blended
Dismissed by
Many in daily strife
Is our only hope
Of survival
Our children
Future life.

Seeing things through a childs eye would help us, they see the world naturally, in an honest and innocent way, we need to hope for them their will be a better future, enjoyed the read

If we could only keep that innocence and nonprejudicial view into adulthood how much different our race would be. A lovely poem

Nicely done! I enjoyed your metaphor of the child and the butterfly, implying the innocence in both. Thank you for sharing.
