The Affair

mtrotter1

And the white rabbit sees lightning

All across the floor,

Sweet kisses refrain from thought

The ocean is dead in the water

And I linger across the room, senseless;

There is a train waiting for me on the other side

I cannot see heaven from here

And the lies you tell are so convincing

You hold my jeans in your hand

As I stand naked and bare

Revealing my soul...

Oh tell me the secrets of your soul

Then you can set me free

Right into the wilderness I belong

And I shall remember you from here

Chasing the stars in your mind

For there is fallacy in every living being,

And this white rabbit has died alone

Presenting itself to its Maker

And the ocean is as white as snow

Please convince me otherwise...

Behold the affair of the century!

An astonishing array of thoughts

Sinking deep into the mouse's ear,

What shadow lives above the rest?

And you see the rest of my clothes

Lying on the bed,

What is it that you reap from me?

What is it that you bestow?

For all the rest doesn't matter anymore

The battle is within your soul

And the dearest ocean weeps upon our spines

For empathy has arrived

And this emotional affair has turmoil

Living in the depths of our souls

And the white rabbit is just a memory

Hanging over our heads

And the walls are just creeping to the door

Hoping for a way out;

Yet silence beckons me still

You have no idea what's on the other side

For the train is leaving.
