An Everlasting Remembrance

cassiopeiaxneptune

Translucent fire,
burning through an eternal flame.
Disappearing from sight
as it meets a blinding light.

Ever so slowly,
it burns out... fading away.
Ever so suddenly—
an ember glow remains...
as an everlasting remembrance,
of how something so close
can be something so far.

This poem reminds me of the beauty of the universe. Even in death it holds on. An exploding star is seen for billions of years. It's beauty is a remnant of its life.
