A mother like mine

Pineapple_pizza018

She tries so much

She's tried for so long

She has a lot of love

And I was wrong

I just get caught up in my head

I used to wish I was dead

I walked the line

Between hope and suicide

But you were on the other side

The entire time

Holding the tightrope steady

As I walked across it

The weight was heavy

But I finished

I was too busy looking down

I didn't look at you

I didn't want to drown

So I didn't care about you

With your head under water

You still held the rope tight

You were going under

And I never thought to ask if you were alright

Never again will I leave you behind

And they'll never find

A mother like mine

A mother's love goes beyond poetry. A most lovely recognition of a mother's love
