A chill within
The attic room
Where in Spring
No flowers bloom
Though nightly
Footfalls heard
Invisible visitors
The spirit world.
The room deserted
Long ago
Yesteryears newspapers
Upon the floor
Cobwebbed furniture
A creaking door
An empty chair
A window there.
Antique mirror
Whose secrets hide
Within its reflection
From both sides
A lifeless doll
Sits upon
A hanging shelf
Its eyes long gone.

A text full of surprising images !
Many thanks, very much appreciated
The mood is cast in a most haunting way where images are used to trigger emotions of fear, anxiety, trepidation and a desire to withdraw. Well set is a most aversive stage.
appreciated, many thanks
Images created giving off that haunting feeling, I am sensing the attic room is the brain and many negative emotions are being triggered, enjoyed the read
thanking you, most kind
You are very welcome
The attic is a symbol not only of physical oblivion but also of internal loss, where the past lives in hidden, not always accessible forms. In this space, full of forgotten traces, one can feel the presence of invisible "visitors" — memories and lost connections. The striking imagery in your poem is truly remarkable.
very kind comments thanking you and much appreciated
