Alone I think

Maplespal

Alone I think

So this is what you meant on that day,
it was confusing I must now confess.
Had to dust off to find what you had to say,
remembering that I was confused I had no guess.

Yet here I sit looking straight ahead,
alone in the darkness thinking my thoughts.
Thinking of the words that day said,
and stories of us now is all I've got.

Thank you for listening ghost,
you were right, I miss you most.
To you I raise my hand and drink,
silently with you alone I think.

    Hello,

This poem has many different layers within it, there was a past present and eventually perhaps future part of this piece. I liked that you left it to the reader to fill in who it is or what that you are writing about. The ghost line can be a reference to the self also, meaning transformation. I enjoyed the read!

Nicely rhymed and composed this poem speaks with quiet loneliness and brings feelings of melancholy. Beautifully penned
