Sympathies

coracaodacripta

Custom the power stripped

Severing shackles of prisoners in lawful arrest

To rule the capitol of Babylon

And at a distance apart from the bars keeping our civil war at bay

In case instead we may

Dream and dream and dream.

Bending knee to lay hips on the ground

Crumbling like the walls of Jericho

Body bruising far too easily

These uniforms chafe.

Adequate behavior does us no favors

When suddenly security extends to your own

And no longer does it matter whether we have a thought of our own

Or so long as it makes no sense.

A poem of protest this is powerful in its message. Nicely worded it speaks for the masses. Well done

  • Poetic Licence

A passionate write encapsulating the state of affairs in the modern world, nicely expressed and written
