Storm Ports

Kurt Philip Behm

Safe place for the meaning — in couplets of rhyme

the words taking shelter in moments sublime

Their message unfurling — new harbor in sight

the tempest becalming in lines of delight

A poem about couplets written in couplets, and the message...profoundly true, as I am interpreting it. The storms are what cause the couplets to be written, but poetic expression is a safe haven from the storms. It is for the one who writes. It is for the one who reads. A brilliant metaphor, and the couplets themselves form a sort of "port". Again, brilliant! 🌹👏 A must fave.
