A BED WITH TWO BLANKETS

nephilim56

You provided shelter
When the snow came
Sharing that bed
Keeping one another warm
We only had two blankets
Loving night to dawn.

It was so cold
We stayed until midday
Sharing cigarettes
Making each other smile
Brandy and beer
Holding you near.

The snow melted
Springtime came
No longer shelter
Just Aprils rain
The bottles empty
Cigarettes not shared
The bed with two blankets
That once cared.

I swear every single time I come back to this place. I check if my friend here has written something and always he has. But every single time Im swept away by his writing. Great poem nephilim.
