eyes.
half open, half closed
and I can't close them
Feet limp
Head laid back
Cold.
Still.
Pale.
Death took them
through length of life
The small fight left.
It remains curled behind their half-closed eyes.
Never to rest in peace.
suspended
between the breath of life.
And the silence.
of death.

This is an intriguing poem half open half closed is perhaps a way of keeping in touch with the transformation of life and death. A multi layered piece!
We equate life with eyes open and death with closed eyes very nicely penned
In-between life and death, nicely expressed
