WANDERED

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

I do not think you left me
You merely wandered
Faraway
Past the orchard
The old gnarled tree
Signpost that points away.

I think you took
One too many steps
Until you were lost
Upon lifes path
In that glorious
July heatwave
Summer shades
Summer dress.

Yesterday
By the meadow
Fruit pickers
Ladders trees
I thought I caught
A glimpse of you
Merely a dream
Or so it seems.

Whether a person, love, a season or time itself this poem speaks of loss and in such a wistful manner. Lovely

I think that is a lovely way, not leaving just wandering away, it will still hurt and you still long for them, but it sounds so much better, lovely write
