Too Close to Survive

Jodie

 Out here alone,
Can’t anyone find me?
Don’t think I can love —
My heart’s a black hole.

Feel like Bambi, staring your gun down,
Panic attacks hit like clockwork.
You’re holding my confidence hostage,
I’m a fool — I need to stay away.

I want to be number one,
I can live it, play the part.
But your words echo in my head —
You lift me up just to break me apart.

I can’t take it anymore.
I’m only human.
Please don’t stand too close —
I’m afraid of you.

That is the worst when someone that lifts you up then cuts you down. Hard to predict how they act. Good read

A horrible situation to be in or a feeling to have, that you are only being built up just so someone has the pleasure of cutting you back down, nicely expressed and written
