Pleasing Everyone Else.
Why do we try so hard to please everyone else.
All our own thoughts stored neatly on the shelf.
Always worrying what other people might think
Instead of just living naturally by our own instinct.
Worried by the views of the neighbours next door.
Your own desires and wishes, you fear to explore.
Incapable of achieving anything just for yourself.
Not to looking for any support or need any help.
Live with the repercussions of the choice you made.
Don't be tied to their thoughts like a mental slave.
You have complete freedom to be right or wrong.
You don't always have to sing other people’s song.
Explore the paths of life that are wide open to you.
Don’t worry about criticism and the following abuse.
Stand proud and live life how you were born to be.
End the dancing to other people’s tune repeatedly.
Go bite the bullet that you have been freely given.
Make mistakes there is always time to be forgiven.
it is not a crime to be self-motivated and self-driven.
If you are always dancing to someone else’s tune
You can only say, your existing and not really living.

Thank you for your kind feedback, have a wonderful week
Mistrusting and people pleasing are probably the first ailments that beset any infant child. Itβs something so hard to cure and shake off, in my opinion. Glad youβve taken up the topic in poem. πππ»
Thank you for your kind feedback, hope you have a wonderful week
Youβre welcome and may your weekend be a great oneππ»ποΈ
Thank you
Know oneself, be comfortable with oneself, be oneself is the process I see and this is reflected in this poem of spiritual freedom. Very well stated and nicely written.
Thank you for your kind feedback, hope you have a wonderful week
yes a powerful message here about dancing to your own tune and not following others.Enjoyable read
Thank you for your feedback, have a wonderful week
So true, my friend! So very true! Individually we are all unique and that is beautiful. When we collectively group together we give up some of that uniqueness for conformity. I, myself, have never been one to conform, even when I've had to comply. Not in my nature. I think people avoid that because, from personal experience, not conforming comes at a social and sometimes even a vocational/financial cost. Still, being ME is priceless as I see it. So, I've paid the cost! π€£ Ultimately you are right, though, if you constantly live life worrying about what others think and conforming to their standards, you really are existing...not living. I choose LIFE over EXISTENCE. Well done, my friend. πΉπ
I echo your feedback wholly, thank you for your kind feedback, have a wonderful week
You too, my dear friend! π€π
Thank you
You're most welcome.
Yes, but at least multiple souls won't damn you like they do me: "Jenny's time." When I can never seem to be anywhere except apparently on my own schedule, having fifty thousand things to do before I go anywhere. Oh yes, and dragging fifty thousand bags, leather totes and canvas, and Starbucks cold cups by the dozen along with me so they question me. Being your ownself is fun, but a damning proposition. Or so it seems to me; and yet I'm too happy to be myself. But enough of that. Beautifully rendered with such a winsome poignancy and excellent imagery. Thank you so much for sharing.
Each to there own, thank you for your feedback, very much appreciated
You're welcome.
Fantastic work.
Thank you for your feedback, very much appreciated
I've struggled with this too. Fear is behind it. That hasn't stopped me feverishly trying to please myself too, though!
Thank you for your feedback, very much appreciated
I have a philosophy in my life Tobani "This is me, if you do not like what you see it is not my problem it is yours!" It works for me and most people accept me as to what I am.
Andy
Have a wonderful day
A much needed write for so many. Your work really reaches those who sometimes tend to slip back.
Thank you for your feedback very much appreciated
This is brilliant! I especially love in the third stanza when you write, "don't be tied go their thoughts like a mental slave" and, "you dong always have go sing other people's song"
Thank you for your kind feedback, Happy Easter
